As the only research druid at the Library of Sacred Secrets, Theadora Eidnin, struggles to be taken seriously by the pompous wizards within the institution. She knows her hard work will pay off when the library's sentient tomes name her as the next Selected and, more importantly, pick her area of focus to be added to the sacred collection. However, just as victory is within reach, it is quickly snatched away as her study is given to the most uptight, self-righteous wizard she has ever had the displeasure of meeting.

Favian Wellard had always calculated becoming the Selected but in all the scenarios, he never considered being given a topic deemed as pseudomagic to true academics. As Lead Theoretical Alchemist, he did not need to be bothered with learning anything in the field of Druidry, nor would he.

Honoring the decree set by the sacred tomes, and upholding this distinguished tradition as the wizards who came before him, Favian has no choice but to work with Theadora in order to create book 1-5-7 for the library's collection.  As they begrudgingly collaborate on this project, they begin to realize that though their approach to magic may be vastly different, they undeniably complement each other in more ways than they could have ever imagined (or wanted to).
